In Memory
In Memory
1/8” Birch Veneer Plywood | 8 x 8
Día de los Muertos is a beautiful Mexican tradition; a time to remember and celebrate the lives of loved ones who are no longer with us. Sugar skulls are often used to symbolize those who have passed on and serve as a reminder that life on Earth is short and must be lived to the fullest.
“In Memory” is comprised of two sugar skulls (sold as a pair) each laser-engraved on 1/8” birch veneer plywood canvases measuring 7”x7”, sealed then painted jet black. The canvases were sanded and sealed again prior to being encased in a 1”x1” custom-made pine frame painted jet black to match the design.
A dust-cover was custom-cut and installed on the back and bumpers were added to the bottom two corners to protect your wall from the artwork and vice versa. A coat of resin was poured over the canvases to give them a glass-like finish after being signed by the artist.
Note: “In Memory” is part of a 21 piece limited edition. #1 of 21 is pictured but please keep in mind, each of the 21 works of art are inherently unique so some elements (i.e. wood grain pattern, etc.) may vary as a result.
